Sharing the wonder of the Universe with others has been one of the great joys of my life.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of giving free lectures and presentations to schools, organizations and audiences of all ages. My aim has always been to make astronomy and cosmology understandable, inspiring and accessible to everyone.
Rather than giving the same presentation every time, I encourage teachers to discuss astronomy with their students beforehand and collect their questions in advance. Those questions become the starting point for each lecture, making every visit a shared exploration of the Universe.
We begin with the remarkable simplicity of nature. How can everything in the Universe be built from a single hydrogen atom? How are all the chemical elements created by adding protons inside the hearts of stars? How can every proton, every electron and every quark be identical throughout the entire Universe, yet together create galaxies, planets, oceans, trees and human beings?
The Universe belongs to all of us, and science becomes truly meaningful when it can be shared.
These pages present some of my lectures together with topics that have fascinated audiences and inspired many questions and discussions.
Whether you are encountering astronomy for the first time or have spent a lifetime looking up at the stars, I hope these lectures will encourage you to continue exploring and wondering.
